The Board of Directors of the Friends of the Brown County Library consists of between ten and sixteen directors, four of whom are officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer). The officers are elected by the Board and approved by general membership, usually at the FBCL Annual Meeting. The Board strives to be multi-discipline, and in recent years, has also included a local student as a teen member. The Board is considered a "working board", volunteering their services for the management of the FBCL committees, events, and campaigns.
In addition, the Board also includes two non-voting advisory members from the Brown County Library, the Library Director and the Library Liaison to the Friends.
